Hockey

My brother, Karter, plays hockey for the Marshfield Blades, and I never posted any pictures of him playing hockey. I have included a few of my favorites from one day of hockey.

Edited Photos #2

I took a couple of pictures from my skating post and re-edited them in Photoshop.

This first picture had already been turned to black and white, but I changed it to a better looking black and white photo using Photoshop.

The next photo I originally had in sepia, so I switched it back to color and made the picture a little bit brighter, as well.

I took this photo and changed it into black and white. I really like how these action shots turn out when they are black and white.

Roller Skating

Roller Blading!

This assignment taking pictures of rollerblading was quite fun to do. Sixth graders rollerblading: priceless. The looks on some of their faces when 15 high school students came in to take their pictures was also really funny. I love taking sports pictures, so I really liked taking these photos. The only unfortunate (it was fortunate, too) part of this day was that I had our SLR camera, so instead of taking one picture at a time, I ended up taking 6 or 7 pictures with one push of the button. So, I ended up taking 382 pictures of kids going in circles on roller blades. Most of these shots were pretty boring, but some of the photos that I got were very cute, funny, and overall the right time to take a picture.
I have included just a small handful of the many pictures that I took.

I may be a little biased taking pictures of my brother the most. :)

Animal Morph

This is my cat morph that I have made for class. I took a picture of my neighbor's cat, Mittens, as well as my own face and then put the two together. I really, really like how this picture turned out. I thought that this was a very fun assignment to do, and I may just have to explore with other animals and people in the near future!!

Snow and Tell :)

This photo is a picture that I took on my day off from school. It's crazy how much snow we have for it being the middle of March!

Lines in Nature

"Your assignment for the weekend is to shoot photos of lines in nature." Oops, I didn't do it over the weekend because I sat in a hockey rink all weekend! Luckily, we had yet another snow day yesterday, so I took tons of photos of the snow on the trees. "Pick three photos to post to your blog." Oh my gosh, are you serious? I took over 100 pictures yesterday!! Here's a few of those pictures of "lines in nature."

This first picture that I took is of a bunch of little trees all in a line. The trees themselves don't really show lines, but they are all lined up in a line. I also converted this picture to black and white because it didn't really have much color in it to begin with.

This picture of the pine cone is probably my favorite picture that I took this weekend. The picture is mainly focused on just the pine cone, and the pine needles are all blurry.

I also like this picture a lot because it shows zig zag lines. Once I started taking pictures, I just couldn't stop!! There were just too many things to take pictures of!

I thought that this picture was cool, because there is so much detail in it. I think that this picture is the perfect line picture.

Alright, I guess I will have to settle with 4 pictures! :)

Melting

Luckily, I shot photos of melting before the huge March snowstorm. The snow really was melting until yesterday, so here are a few of those melting photographs.

This picture was pretty neat, I thought. I like that it is focused right on the grass instead of the melting subject in this photo.

This photo was shot at my neighbor's house, and I promise it really was dripping from those icicles!! The main subject in this photo is the top of the icicles, where it is focused the most. The secondary subject would be the trees, as they are about the only other thing in this photograph.

This picture was taken when there were drips coming off of it as well, which shows melting. I like everything about this picture; the icicle is the clearest part of the photo, and the trees would be the secondary subject in this photograph. I also like how the blue sky accompanies the trees and icicle so well.

Replace a Sky

Sunset in a Different Direction

This is my new picture that I have made; half of the picture is replaced, which is the sky. I took two separate photos and then put them together as one. I really like how this turned out, especially because I had to change some things up in the picture. Originally, the pink in the sky should have been down by the house, but taking out all of the sky details was a bit too hard. So, I flipped the sky so that the redness was at the top of the photograph.

This first picture isn't the exact original, but is mainly the same.

This photo is the exact original of the sunset.
